Rogue One Mining Tug Explosion

I'm a visual effects artist, and it's ironic that what we create on computers remains intangible until brought to life through 3D printing. To test this concept, I've attempted to replicate the mining tug explosion from Rogue One using a 3D printer. Although the shape differs slightly, the underlying fluid dynamics remain identical. This particular print was done at 70% resolution due to the excessively long print time involved. Next up is another simulation that will yield better results for conversion into a functional lamp; however, I'm excited to share this initial attempt since it boasts impressive detail. A small hollowed-out core within allows for easy integration of an LED light source.
