ROFI bipedal robot
cults3d
ROFI is the fifth prototype from Project Biped, a self-contained, bipedal robot that uses accelerometer feedback to maintain balance. Equipped with 12 DOF (degrees of freedom), it can walk around while avoiding obstacles using an ultrasonic range sensor. A small onboard Android tablet serves as its brain, and an Arduino mega board handles the hardware interface. All designs, source code, and parts lists are freely available and open source, making them accessible to anyone with a low-cost 3D printer and interest in robotics. Detailed step-by-step animated assembly instructions enable individuals to build ROFI. A comprehensive overview, including source Blender files, can be found on the Project Biped ROFI website at projectbiped.com/prototypes/rofi.
