My good friend Dave came up with this quick draw spool holder where you do not need a rod! I love it!! He did not want to post it but told me I could share if I thought it was worthed. It is!! Holds many different types of spools.

Print Settings

Printer:

Anet A8

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

See notes

Notes:

Since I use Simplify 3D, I can set up different infills for different heigths. So, infill formthe nut was 7%. Infill for the main screw was 5% up to the begining of the "base of the rocket" and 50% for the rest of this part. And infill for the stem was 50% all the way.
UPDATE 23Jul17: If you have an AM8, check out the Spool Holder Bracket that Dave cooked up... <https: thing:2449265="" www.thingiverse.com="">
UPDATE 6May18: well, after I droped my spool holder and broke the stem that is printed with the screw, but of course! we decided to modify this thing a bit... now, you can print the screw by itself and print two caps. That way, if one cap brakes, just a small print and you are back in the game!
</https:>

Category: 3D Printer Accessories
