Rodin Voronoi Sculpture / Right Hand of Pierre and Jacques de Wissant
thingiverse
I've been wanting to create a Rodin Voronoi sculpture for several years now, and this is finally mine. I took the scan created by Aaron Humphreys on MyMiniFactory and modified it, then added Voronoi texturing in MeshMixer. According to the Musee Rodin site, Rodin worked separately on certain hands of his Burghers of Calais to heighten their power of expression. Although he used the same left and right hands for Pierre and Jacques de Wissant, each figure has a very different effect. Pierre de Wissant's right hand sweeps upwards in abnegation, while Jacques de Wissant's hand is drawn back towards his face, implying doubt. This model is based on a design by Aaron Humphreys: https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-rodin-right-hand-of-pierre-and-jacques-de-wissant-11670 More information about the sculpture can be found at http://www.musee-rodin.fr/en/collections/sculptures/pierre-and-jacques-de-wissant-right-hand.
