I had numerous 10mm rods lying around, and I wanted to utilize them for holding filament rolls in IKEA SAMLA boxes. This led me to create these connectors and spacers. To ensure a better fit, I enlarged the holes to 10.5mm. The original 10mm openings were too small and required re-drilling. If my printer operates with greater precision, it's possible to reduce the print volume by several percent. Seven to eight filament spools can be accommodated in a 45-liter SAMLA box, whereas a smaller 22-liter SAMLA box can hold four rolls.
