Rod Holder Concept 6/concept 3 update:

This is an update to my third concept design, "The Hammerhead." It can also be used with my previous concept, "The Blade." The new carrier design offers a cheaper and more easily built alternative to the original. Materials include aluminum, plastic, and wood. The design features a simple aluminum backbone as the main rod holder, which is cost-effective and easy to manufacture. Two plastic components attach to the front and back of the aluminum backbone, holding the rod in place. These can be injection molded or 3D printed, with injection molding being the cheaper option. Wood substitution is possible. The interchangeable design allows for future accessories like dual rod holders or specialty rod holders, creating adaptability and potential extra revenue streams. The backbone assembly is held in place by CNC machined aluminum pressure plates, allowing for adjustments in inclination and 360-degree rotation. Recent pricing estimates reveal injection molding costs for the plastic parts, with potential savings at higher quantities. Quotes are awaited for the CNC aluminum parts.
