This is a holding clamp for securing the rod on my spool holder system. I chose not to use a threaded rod, opting instead for a 3/8" (9.7mm) aluminum bar. The bar requires a small flat section that will be secured in place by the clamp. I designed a second version that features a rod notch all the way around. This design modification reduces the likelihood of the rod coming loose if it rotates freely.
