This is a versatile tool designed to cut small diameter rods or tubes efficiently with a Dremel rotary tool. It features a precision-matched Dremel thread (M18x2.25/ANSI 3/4-12) in the guide component, allowing for effortless attachment of the Dremel 395 model. A small tube or rod with a 10mm diameter is required to link the two parts together. To ensure a snug fit, the guide component might need some gentle sanding to align perfectly with the base. Additionally, I created a non-metric version of the hinge for users who prefer imperial measurements. This adaptation allows you to substitute the 10mm axle with a 3/8" axle in the hinge assembly. The files labeled "_38" in their filenames correspond to this 3/8" axle variation. Please note that I've carefully set the tolerances to accommodate the 3/8" axle, ensuring a smooth fit. To enhance stability and control during cutting operations, I've included a support-block feature. This component securely holds the loose end of the tube or rod in place, preventing any movement or vibration. I've made significant updates to this tool since its initial release: On January 26, 2019, I added .step files for the 3/8" hinge version, allowing users to modify and customize their designs as needed. On February 4, 2019, I revised the base component to prevent any collisions with the flexible guide part. This change affects only users who are utilizing the flex guide feature. If you're using the regular guide or the guide_38 variant, no modifications are required.
