Rockwell XFV-12a for microarmor

The Rockwell XFV-12a represented a bold attempt to create a supersonic VTOL fighter, designed specifically for operation from escort carriers. Initially, this concept seemed viable, but unfortunately, it failed to scale effectively, hindered by the notorious square-cube law. Despite promising wind tunnel test results, which indicated the aircraft would perform well in flight, its inability to execute a vertical take-off proved insurmountable. The project was ultimately shelved when the Navy shifted its focus towards super carriers.
