Rockwell Jawhorse Replacement Jaw

Rockwell Jawhorse Replacement Jaw

My Jawhorse has been an exceptional tool, far exceeding expectations in every way. When my original urethane jaws began to disintegrate while clamping a bar, I knew I had to replace them right away. Online replacements cost $50 to $80 USD - that's outrageous for a simple part. So I set out to print new ones myself. I printed my set using Taulman Bridge Nylon and Alloy 910. PLA is completely unsuitable; it's too brittle to withstand the stress. ABS and PETG may work temporarily with low infill, but you really need the flexibility and toughness of Nylon or PC - there are no exceptions. CF Filled Nylon could be an option, but you need a certain amount of give when clamping parts so as not to deform them. Feb 9 2019 - I've added screws and nuts to secure the outside holes in the jaws. The original jaws have a nub that sticks in, but these work well and are easier to print without support than the nubs on the back of the jaws. I added a long bolt and smaller star nut for replacing the 2 jaws on the sliding portion of the Jaw Horse - they haven't been tested yet.
