Rockwall_Hold
thingiverse
I engineered the Rockwall hold with the specific goal in mind: no matter what, the climber should never let go. Meanwhile, I considered comfort, thinking about how this would greatly reduce muscle fatigue if the climber has to stay put for an extended period. The design excels at accommodating both hands and allows climbers to use all fingers for a comfortable hold. The Rockwall hold 3D model was meticulously crafted using Openscad. This allowed me to download the .stl file, slice it on Cura software, and convert it to gcode. From there, I utilized Pronterface (printrun) to send control commands to the Melzi 3D printer controller's firmware, thereby bringing the Rockwall Hold to life through precise print commands.
