The 'Rocking Smartphone Stand' is a compact, easy-to-print design that requires very little filament. Using it is straightforward - simply insert your Smartphone into the slot and let it rock backwards until it reaches its balance point. Tap it gently and watch as it rocks back and forth in a smooth, cool motion. The minimalist design is sure to please everyone, making it well worth the time to print one for yourself or as a thoughtful gift. Please note that different phone models have varying centers of mass and points of balance, so while this stand should work for most Smartphones, it may not be suitable for every make or model. It's designed specifically for use with common 4.5-inch to 5-inch screen models, excluding larger phones like phablets. The design was originally created for a Samsung Galaxy S5, which works seamlessly, and has also been tested on several iPhone models without any issues. However, please be aware that phone covers can affect the balance point, so it's essential to take this into account. If your Smartphone doesn't rock smoothly when you first insert it, you can adjust the curve of the stand to suit your phone's balance point. This is easily done with PLA prints by following these simple steps: fill a bowl with near-boiling water, drop the stand in for a few seconds, then carefully remove it - be cautious not to distort it. Gently bend the stand to make the necessary adjustments and run it under cold water to speed up the process. The range of STL files provided ensures a snug fit for phones from 8mm to 13mm thick in 1mm increments, taking into account different depths and phone covers. If your Smartphone falls forward when you slide it in, adjust the center of mass or balancing point by following these steps: 1. Fill a bowl with near-boiling water. 2. Drop the stand in for a few seconds, then carefully remove it - be cautious not to distort it. 3. Gently bend the stand to make the necessary adjustments and run it under cold water to speed up the process. Test your Smartphone and see how the rocking action has changed. It may take a few attempts to get it balancing and rocking well, but with small, careful adjustments, you'll achieve the desired result. If you've distorted the stand during the adjustment process, print another one - they're small prints that don't use much filament. Charging: To plug your phone in while it's on the stand, simply slide it in upside down with the charging cable attached out the top. It won't rock as usual, but it will still be usable as a stand.
