Rocket Ship Bird Feeder

Rocket Ship Bird Feeder

Here is a bird feeder I designed for my mom last Mother's Day. Now that day has passed, but I've since refined the design to accommodate smaller birds. Larger birds often become bold and try to snatch food - it's almost inevitable. This design was initially tailored for an Argo Tea Bottle, but you can easily scale up the top to fit other bottles or jars in the future. The base of the feeder is versatile and can be paired with a mason jar as well. Simply attach paracord to the bottom of the jar using hot glue, and hang it however you prefer. I've been using a basic wild bird blend without any issues so far. One notable advantage of this design is its stability on windy days. The weight of the tea bottle combined with its rounded shape keeps the feeder firmly in place, minimizing seed loss. However, food with large chunks of dried fruit tends to clog the feeder. I'm planning to create a larger version of this design soon. It's essential to remember that after attaching a lid or cap to the base, you should add weeping holes on the side to prevent water from accumulating and promoting algae growth.
