As chief security officer, Rocket safeguarded the colony from various threats. Judson Jakes (an anthropomorphic mole) once attempted to pilfer Halfworld's Bible, only for Raccoon and Hulk to thwart his plans. Then, Lord Dyvyne abducted Lylla, a close friend of Rocket's, prompting Judson Jakes to launch the Toy War. As the war escalated, Blackjack O'Hare (a relentless rabbit-like mercenary) allied with Rocket, enabling them to reunite with Lylla at last. The starship Rack 'n' Ruin was destroyed in the process, forcing Rocket and his adversaries - Judson Jakes along with Lord Dyvyne - to form a united front against him. Ultimately, Rocket Raccoon and his companions worked tirelessly to heal the sick on Halfworld, reportedly killing both Judson Jakes and Lord Dyvyne. Rocket and his allies, including animals and robots, abandoned the planet and ventured into space in pursuit of their next adventures. At some point later, it emerged that Rocket had undergone experimentation at the hands of an alien known as The Stranger on an extraterrestrial planet, from which he successfully broke free to begin his journey anew.
