Rocket Man

This month's project was a complete overhaul of some of my previous work. I had created an animation called "Deep Space Exploration" that featured a rocket ship zooming through the cosmos, and it was from my early days when I first started learning Maya and discovered Mental ray - a long time ago indeed! Since then, I've been eager to create another rocket ship scene but felt that duplicating the same flying design wouldn't be as fulfilling. Moreover, my computer was struggling with the thought of rendering an entire animation's worth of Vray scenes. So I decided to update the rocket ship model instead - it was more of a test for me to see how far I've come. I must say, I'm extremely pleased with this one, and for this project, I chose to add an interior to the ship as well. You might even recognize the little pilot flying their spacecraft around! Not only am I thrilled with how the project turned out, but I also feel that I managed to complete it in a remarkably short amount of time - relatively speaking, of course!
