Rocket Launcher Mk 7
grabcad
During World War II, a rocket launcher was developed as an Army project that utilized Navy rockets; its initial application was in naval mountings on larger landing craft (Landing Craft Infantry (Rocket) or LCI(R)) for fire support during landing operations. It was also mounted on International 1-ton 4X4 trucks for the Marine Corps and used from Iwo Jima onwards, as well as experimentally in smaller landing craft. Indications suggest it saw action only in the Pacific theater before becoming obsolete post-war. Known as T45, the launcher differed from its Navy counterpart only in terms of mounting bars welded to vehicles or craft and held 12 rockets that were fired sequentially. Reloading took around 20-30 minutes, an impracticality for combat situations; however, details on control boxes and rocket colors/markings remain unknown.
