An ordinary rocket casing, known as a fairing, is designed to protect the payload during launch and ascent. It encases the spacecraft or satellite, safeguarding it from atmospheric drag and aerodynamic stresses until it reaches its intended altitude. The fairing is then discarded, leaving the payload to continue its journey independently.
