I had to create a secure housing for my off-road LED light switch, which powers my truck's off-road lights. Initially, I simply cut out a space under my dashboard and inserted the switch, but it kept popping out. To keep it in place, I hot-glued it, however, living in Arizona exposed it to extreme heat, causing the glue to fail after one summer. This led me to design a custom holder that accommodates standard automotive rocker switches securely and allows for two self-tapping screws to be drilled into the plastic, providing a solid installation.
