Rocker Switch Housing for 2020 Extrusion / 20mm Switches
thingiverse
This compact switch enclosure is designed to cradle a 20mm rocker switch and securely fasten to 2020 extrusion. The box wraps snugly around the extrusion, covering two sides, and is held in place by a single M4 screw and t-nut. An access hole allows an Allen key to be inserted for tightening the screw. Additional holes enable wiring to be routed within the channel on the extrusion. The enclosure consists of two parts, with the cover secured by M3 screws. Holes in the body measure 2.5mm in diameter and were tapped to M3, although tapping may not always be necessary. 20mm diameter rocker switches are widely available, but the ones used can be found at https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01K7MNPB6. To assemble, feed wires into the box through the large hole on the front and position an M4 t-nut in the extrusion channel. Place the box against the extrusion, insert an M4x8 screw into the screw hole, align it with the t-nut, and tighten using an Allen key inserted through the access hole. Wire up the switch before pushing it into the housing. Multiple switches can be stacked together on the extrusion if desired. Print settings include: Printer: Anycubic Kossel Linear Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm layer height, 0.8mm shell thickness Infill: 20% Notes: Supports were generated by Cura for printing the housing, but they may not be necessary. The cover does not require supports.
