I believe the hardware is three-eighths inch in size. A half-inch wrench fits snugly onto the nuts and bolt head, which could also be five-sixteenths of an inch in diameter. To assemble it, you'll need to trap one nut within the baffle using a nut trap, then thread a second nut onto the bolt and insert that into the trapped nut. Next, expand it within the container until it's tight, and lock it firmly in place with the second nut. You can use a wrench on it, but be prepared to flip the wrench repeatedly to get a secure grip on the bolt end due to its location within a jar. There is also a slightly taller version of the file available for larger containers. This design is part of my wind-powered rock tumbler concept, but it's useful on its own for other tumblers as well. For polishing, use a cut-up piece of 100-grit sandpaper and water for the rough polish, then switch to 1000-grit with water for the fine finish. You don't need to purchase expensive bags of grit specifically designed for tumblers; regular sandpaper will do just fine. I've included Sketchup files so you can modify the design to fit your container using the Push/Pull Sketchup tool.
