Rock Space Ant Mini Printer Topper Spool Holder
thingiverse
My first printer was this strange tubular mini printer. This is often most recognizable as a Rock Space Mini Ant printer, but mine was non-branded. (https://youtu.be/Vh9sk3ALet0?si=d8Xv6Zid_B6DEkji)The printer has some nice features for a cheap printer. It has linear bearings for the x and y axis and a double fine thread rod and motor system for the z axis. The fans and steppers are also quite quiet. One annoying element was the included spool holder which just set the spool off to the side and meant that his compact unit became a bit unwieldy to setup once the spool was attached. I created this spool holder in an attempt to rectify this odd feature. This piece isn't perfect, but does line up with a couple of holes on the top of the unit. It wont work if the default screen remains in place. Mine is upgraded to a different control unit, so it doesn't have that issue.
