Robust Gear for Eurofighter (Freewing)
thingiverse
I redesigned the robust gear for my Eurofighter model, the Freewing, after encountering issues with retraction due to a subpar gass flat design. Each attempt at installing a retract resulted in damaged struts, so I decided to create a new setup. Firstly, I eliminated the retract mechanism along with its accompanying servos for the door and steering. This weight-saving measure shaved off 380g from the overall mass. Next, I rebuilt a single wheel gear system, complemented by custom covers for the holes. Thanks to these modifications, my Eurofighter model is now able to start and land smoothly, allowing me to utilize it effectively.
