I decided to design and create furniture for my great niece's doll house that her grandfather was restoring, utilizing my 3D printer. Since I knew the 5-year-old hands of the intended user could easily break off 3D printed legs, I opted to integrate sturdy 4mm oak dowels as the base of each item instead. To secure these dowels, I carefully modeled holes that were exactly 4mm in diameter and then used a meat tenderizer mallet to tap them into place - so far, this method has worked well. Although I'm fairly certain these pieces will eventually be sanded and painted, they're coming along nicely for now.
