ROBUST DIY VENTILATOR FOR AFRICA
grabcad
I took a close look at a remarkably straightforward yet impressively sturdy DIY ventilator machine. I downloaded a GRABCAD model of an "AMBUBAG," a piece of equipment I'd never seen before, but I designed my machine around it because MIT also did it. A simple rack and pinion mechanism runs on a stepper motor controlled by either an Arduino or Raspberry PI. The controller needs to manage the breathing rate required and an electrical solenoid valve for oxygen if needed. It must also control the pressure at the desired level using a pressure control valve. The machine should be able to run on 230v AC or 12v DC battery power.
