Robox Filament Catcher (No longer works/needed with latest update)
thingiverse
The latest upgrade resolves the issue of filament flying wildly everywhere by adjusting the height of the heads for the pre-print cleaning cycle, so this modification seems to be unnecessary at this point. Save time collecting stray filament under the print bed with the Robox filament retriever. It catches the filament from the tip wipe blade every single time you initiate a print job. I've refined my original design to make the retriever more robust and easier to detach from any accumulated filament. This innovative solution is specifically designed for the CEL Robox printer model. Remember, always ensure the filament is cleared after each printing session to prevent complications arising from unmanaged residue. Best Results The best material to use when printing the retriever is ABS. As a result of the higher temperature involved in printing with ABS, a PLA retriever can deform easily when subjected to these conditions. However, an ABS retriever can be used effectively with both ABS and PLA filament types. I produced this design using the Robox fine setting at 100% fill level. It takes around ten minutes to print this feature.
