This is a project that has been in development for around eighteen months now, and this iteration is nearly complete. Before it reaches completion, I will need to refine the code and find a willing participant with amputations to test it on. The overall price tag comes out to be just under one hundred dollars, utilizing two servos - one for the thumb and one for the other four fingers - controlled by a Myoware muscle sensor. I opted for more powerful servos to boost strength, but standard servos can also be used effectively. Here are the materials needed: Servo: http://www.banggood.com/JX-PDI-6221MG-20KG-Large-Torque-Digital-Coreless-Servo-For-RC-Model-p-973947.html Battery: https://www.pololu.com/product/2224 Flexible Nylon Paracord for finger retraction: http://www.paracordplanet.com/black-1-8-shock-cord/?gclid=CjwKEAjwoPG8BRCSi5uu6d6N5WcSJABHzD8F0L0fHDhT_dqwNNAAP0UubP1OmgCBMNTkp_OyXJ0xuBoC05Tw_wcB Arduino Nano: http://www.banggood.com/NANO-IO-Shield-Expansion-Board-Nano-V3-Improved-Version-With-Cable-For-Arduino-p-1010993.html Rubber Sheet: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEOPRENE-RUBBER-SHEET-1-32-THK-X-36-x12-WIDE-60-DURO-5-/252444357962?hash=item3ac6db354a:m:mfM4gXGbn2nDErOINfWRrrQ Fishing wire available anywhere I plan to post a video soon on how to assemble the arm, which is relatively straightforward. However, there are some tips that can enhance performance and ease assembly. I welcome any improvements or modifications to the design; if you have suggestions, feel free to share them with me at grossrc46468@gmail.com. If you have questions, this email address is also where you can reach out to me.
