Robotic Enclosure - University of Texas at San Antonio - A.C.E. Lab
grabcad
As an undergraduate student, I was eager to create my own robot but the expensive price of robot bases deterred me. I decided to design a base using lexan and aluminum as primary materials. By purchasing leftover lexan from a supplier, raw aluminum, and visiting local hardware stores, the design gradually took shape. The robot encloses a kinetic on mast, netbook, and has space for additional hardware. You can access PDF drawings of rev 2.5 and rev 2.7, which have some new features added. I share this under CC 3.0 License and am available to answer any questions. I want to clarify that I do not take credit for the contributions made by GrabCAD users in my project.
