Robotic Arm with Clamp end effector
grabcad
The group robotics project's final output focuses on enhancing recycling facilities through a robotic arm model. The arm, featuring a 4-degree-of-freedom (RRRR) design with a clamp end effector, sorts objects based on color. Key components include a hidden workbench that houses the camera for image processing and a unique base with round rails holding 1 cm diameter marbles as ball bearings. The MG995 and SG90 servo-motors were used in CAD models, and the entire system was fabricated using 4mm wood veneer through 2D laser cutting. Despite budget limitations of €70 (excluding Raspberry Pi and camera), the project showcases the clamp and select parts in its gallery.
