More than that, this advance has been expanding the productive and industrial capacity, allowingus to transcend barriers and solve problems much more efficiently. These changes have changed the waywe design structures, in such a way that we are no longer limited to traditional geometries, but we haveways to generate more complex, organic geometries, achieving better results. In addition, advancednumerical methods allow us to predict the behavior of these structures and optimize them in order to obtainthe best cost-benefit ratio. The objective of this work is to present, in an educational way, a dynamic way of developing arobotic arm: the iterative design of structures. To achieve this goal, using Fusion360 ©, a simple piece wasgenerated for the arm and simulated mechanical stresses in 3 different types of analysis: static stressanalysis, topological optimization of geometry and generative design, the first using the finite elementmethod. At the end of each set of simulations, the simulations were analyzed and the geometry wasoptimized, aiming at the best resistance-to-weight ratio. These iterations occurred until obtaining an organicgeometry that met the initial criteria of the project.Additionally, in order to achieve the proposed pedagogical objective, the work topics are organizedin such a way as to clarify the necessary foundations for the process and, after that, to deepen and carry outthe necessary calculations. At the end of the project, the results obtained are discussed, presenting the key aspects of thestructure and this type of design process. In addition, alternatives to the manufacturing process of thedimensioned parts are presented. Keywords: Structural analysis, iterative design, finite element method, AutodeskFusion360More info soon...
