Robotic Arm Challenge Cube and Fixture

Robotic Arm Challenge Cube and Fixture

The fixture I have created for the nTopology/Stratasys Design Competition is a teaching aid for my university’s industrial robotics class. I designed a small challenge cube in nTopology where three of the faces have a protruding sphere, cone, and cylinder, and the remaining three are unaltered and flat. This provides a variety of orientations for the cube to be set up for identification and gripping by the robotic arm either in a fixture or at a set point on the table surrounding the arm. The fixture itself is designed to have eight orientations that the challenge cube can be set in, as well as one or four different locations. This allows the professor to use the same part and fixture to provide each student with a slightly different challenge.
