Hi, This super simple robot arm was made fast with a CNC machine. It can't be done with laser cutting because there are some holes that need to be respected. Qualities: made in 10 minutes, editable, scalable, very affordable, easy to understand, small size. Flaws: looks unprofessional, brittle (but you can make another one in 10 minutes), lacks grip power, has limited movement. It is carved out of 10mm thick plastic foam with 5mm deep holes. I have attached the GCAO and GFAO files for CRA4 CNC machine and DXF file. The rectangular cavities receive four 9g servos. You can add joints, limbs, servos, etc. Rotations are possible because of screws that go through half of each limb to screw into the next one. Preferred screws are appliance cap screws, which don't have sharp points and are ultimately useless. The connecting rods are piano wire, spring steel, or MIG welding wire. It should be thin and rigid. The center distance is 25mm. If you change the limbs, it may need to be adjusted. The feet are necessary because of the height of the servo that controls the rotation of the torso. They are former machined parts leftovers. The only critical dimension is the back, which needs to be heavy enough to prevent tipping forward. The hand is carved in one piece and has flexible areas where it can bend. It closes with the latest servo, which pulls on a triangular part attached to the servo by string or fishing line. Enjoy!
