Here's a breakdown of each section: **Fleets** * Fleets cannot explore beyond their local Star Group. * They lack the capacity for deep space travel. * A Super Dimensional (SD) fleet takes 3 Resource Points (RP) to operate. **Terrain Marker** * Army units can be left on any terrain or planet marker, indicating the Mobilization Pool in that Region. * 1 RP equals 100 Mobilization Points. **Army Operations** * When fighting over a planet or terrain other than open space, the Resource Points of the fleet become Ground Forces Mobilization Points. * A fleet of 2 FTL is equal to 10 RP or 1000 Mobilization Points. * Armies are deployed when terrain features in the sector need clearing. **Army Operations on Planets (RRT)** 1. The defender sets up the board. 2. The attacker decides which side to approach the objective. 3. Mobilization Points govern resources that can be purchased. 4. The winner gains RP of terrain, control over Ruin Markers, and abilities. 5. Defeated armies remove fleet markers. **Fleets In/Out of Operational Status** * Only as many fleets in operation as Resource Points allow. * If by the end of a turn you no longer can support a fleet, it must be retired. **Fleet Deep Space Battles** * Small space craft are not launched in deep space battles due to lack of maneuvering benefits and recovery difficulties. * For each class of ship present in a sector, roll d6. Hits are recorded if a 5 or 6 is rolled. **Research and Development (Combinations)** 1. Combinations must be announced at the beginning of the Strategic Turn. 2. FTL Rated (Upgrade to Fold) - When certain Ruins and Artifacts are recovered, Fold Technology is achieved. **Level 3 R&D** * 1 Golden Tribe Ruins with 1 Spheris Artifact and 1 Garudan Gate: Fold tech is perfect, allowing fleets to move ignoring game board rules. **Level 2 R&D** * 1 Golden Tribe Ruins with 1 Spheris Artifact: FTL/Warping drive can move 3 spaces and ignore blocking enemies. * 1 Golden Tribe Ruins with 1 Garudan Gate: Fold system is imperfect, requiring a d6 roll to determine if the unit can move. * 1 Garudan Gate with 1 Spheris Artifact: Planets are connected by Dimensional Gateways, mobilization pools include garrisons on other planets. **Level 1 R&D** * 1 Garudan Gate: worthless without other components. * 1 Spheris Artifact: +1 Attack All Fleet Units. * 1 Golden Tribe Ruins: all SD units capable of FTL movements.
