Robot Toy #A

Robot Toy #A

Recently, I have been creating action figures (view examples at http://tekeian.posterous.com/pages/action-figures). These designs are now available on Thingiverse for printing. To assemble these figures quickly, use only a flat file and an X-Acto knife for raft trimming, followed by gluing the parts together. For articulation, attach some filament to each arm and run it through the body's hole. The hands can grip objects with a 3mm edge. When printing, most parts require a raft except for the helmet and lightning bolts. The robot body, visible in the parts image, has already been trimmed. While legs can be printed without a raft, foot perimeters may appear ragged. To avoid this, try using HBP. I used a ToM with ABP and Print-o-matic enabled in RepG. Periodically, lightly sand the belt, especially when rafts start curling at the edges.
