Robot toilet paper holder
thingiverse
What can I say, it's a robot-shaped toilet paper holder. Don't have a 3D printer? Just want one already printed and assembled? Buy one at my shop. This is my second bathroom robot, the first one being http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1409367 , with a newer version that can hold your cell phone, available in my shop here. The model has three parts - the robot itself, the wall plate, and the rod - all of which should be printed without support. The body has built-in support, while the other files don't require any additional supports. Print the body lying on its back with three lines of support material to remove in the wall plate slot at the bottom and plenty of extra clearance for no sagging due to bridging issues. There are also supports below the arms and inside the hands; no extra supports needed. The wall plate should be printed wide part down, requiring no support. Finally, the rod is best printed standing with the wider ring on the bottom - if your printer z-axis is long enough. Test-print a small part of the rod to see if it fits inside the hand, as it's a little tight and you might have to scale it if your printer is calibrated differently than mine. Everything can be printed on the same bed with the same settings if you have the build area, but I think it looks better if the rod is a different color. I printed everything in PLA at 0.2mm layer height with 5% infill and 1.2mm shell (except for the rod, which I accidentally printed with 0.4mm shell; I'll reprint it if it breaks). The model was designed with SketchUp Make, fixed with Microsoft 3D Builder, sliced with Cura, and printed on my Robo3D R1+.
