Robot SCARA (Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm)
grabcad
Our graduate project, in collaboration with Jacob, focused on creating a new design of robots - specifically, the SCARA (Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm) robots, also known as "horizontal articulated arm" machines. These robots have four degrees of freedom, enabling precise and reliable positioning and payload joining at every horizontal orientation. They are easy to set up and boast high vertical rigidity. SCARA's design is similar to a human arm with an articulated horizontally swinging arm; it has four freely programmable axes for handling on plane-parallel surfaces, while the shaft can rotate independently from its vertical motion to freely orient products within the work envelope. The SCARA principle embodies simplicity and reliability.
