Robot Arm 5DOF
thingiverse
I've used Sketchup to design an arm made entirely out of PLA plastic, featuring 8 Hitec MG servos and a dedicated gripper servo, enabling efficient grasping operations. At full extension, this robotic arm is capable of lifting about 200 grams; however, by utilizing the dual servo mechanism on the second and third degree-of-freedom (DOF) positions, its payload capacity significantly increases to approximately 500 grams halfway through its extension range. The arm remains a work-in-progress as I continue refining it. In an effort to encourage tinkering with the design, I have made available the corresponding SketchUp (.skp) files for users who are interested in experimenting with them. You can watch a demonstration video of this robotic arm at: https://youtu.be/ThECL_-q7jg Below is a set of step-by-step instructions on how to construct and assemble this arm. Materials needed for printing: * 2 pieces of arm1_part1 * 2 pieces of arm1_part2 * 5 servo arm brackets * 5 gripper part1 components * 2 gripper ends
