Roborock S5 Max Bumper

Recently purchased the Roborock S5 Max and noticed that it was consistently getting caught in one of the bedrooms with a metal hammock featuring a tubular frame. The robot effortlessly navigated over the obstacle but would inevitably get stuck. To address this issue, I took advantage of the built-in no-go zone feature, allowing me to designate specific areas as off-limits for the robot. However, I still wanted the Roborock S5 Max to maintain its cleaning schedule and successfully navigate through that particular area. To achieve this, I designed a custom bumper using 3D modeling software. The first design, Roborock_S5_Max_Bumper_v2.stl, is a shorter version of the bumper that provides a snug fit for the robot's underside. The second design, Roborock_S5_Max_Bumper_Extended_v2.stl, offers an extended length to accommodate longer obstacles or more complex layouts. To further enhance the design, I updated both models on February 16th, 2020. The modifications resulted in a tighter fit for the bumper, ensuring it stays securely in place and doesn't shift around during use. This improvement provides greater stability and reliability when navigating through challenging areas.
