Robocop ED-209 (Omni Consumer Products)
thingiverse
There are quite a few ED-209 models available online for free, but they all have significant flaws - either in accuracy or details or were simply abandoned by their original creators. I took the model from MyMiniFactory, which I consider one of the best out there, and corrected the visor so it is now a single piece with the upper head. The original model has a major issue where the visor refuses to fit the printed head - frustrating after a long 9-hour print job. There were many requests over the years to fix this problem, but no response was ever given - it seemed abandoned. I corrected the visor and merged it into the head so it is now one piece. I also fixed the mesh's deep gashes (not sure why they were there) and uploaded a lower-poly version as well. Your slicer will appreciate the difference, even if you can't see it yourself. The fixed head without reducing poly count is 17MB in size, while the reduced poly version weighs in at only about 5MB. Print away - enjoy - add to and update this model as you see fit. Just don't sell it or try to make money off of it, or the original publisher will issue a DMCA takedown notice. Don't print the low-poly complete ED-209 - that's just for reference when assembling the pieces. <b>UPDATE:</b> - <b>2/24/18 - I added a new head with no support required. I also added a complete head with no support for SLA/DLP printing.</b> - I updated the Head Top and Low Poly versions, fixing a tiny 0.2mm gap. - I split the leg into separate pieces for easier printing.
