Robo3D R1 R1+ Extruder Camera (Pi Zero W)
thingiverse
Purpose: Enhance 3D printing capabilities by installing an extruder-mounted camera for improved first-layer visibility and upward print tracking. **Required Components:** * The custom part (obviously) * 1x Pi Zero W * 1x Raspberry Pi Camera Module * 1x Pi Raspberry Pi Zero v1.3 Camera Cable (converts to smaller pin pitch) http://www.adafruit.com/product/3157 * 2x standard 608ZZ bearings * Hot Glue for assembly * 5V wires (stranded preferred, but solid works too) **Printing Recommendations:** Print the Pi Zero Backplate with bearing mounts in vertical orientation for optimal pin strength. The top overhang should not be excessive. Mattercontrol recommends printing at low resolution. * Retainer bar can be printed at 0.3mm resolution * The rest of the parts should be printed at 0.2mm resolution with 20-30% infill **Assembly Instructions:** 1. Assemble all parts as shown in the complete STL file 2. Secure components together using hot glue 3. Apply a strip of hot glue to both sides of the pi enclosure assembly to lock-in the mount that attaches to the extruder 4. Use software to capture or stream video from the pi cam, such as mjpg_streamer or raspivid utility with VLC streaming capabilities
