I am upgrading my Robo3D R1 hot end with an E3D v.5/6 and will be using this custom fan mount instead of the stock one. This custom mount was inspired by PD5DJ's design, thing 480350, but I had to modify it to accommodate the M4 extruder mounting screw used in my new Robo3D R1. To create the bracket that holds the hot end fan, start by printing a new piece using your favorite filament. I chose PLA with 2 shells, 60% infill, and 0.25mm layer height settings. The mount was built around this setup, and now you're ready to begin. Mounting Instructions: To begin installing the fan, you must attach the custom bracket first, in place of the original factory bracket. Place your hot end bracket at exactly the same position as the factory model on top of it; once placed there securely install onto factory screw mounting points. Finally put in the M4 screws. I then went on to upgrade my old printer's extruder with an improved v5 or v6 version and made this design a reality, utilizing high-temperature 3d prints suitable for heavy loads
