Robo3D E3dv6 Fan shroud
thingiverse
This is a basic fan mount for a 40x40x10mm fan on an upgraded Robo3D printer that now features an E3Dv6 hotend. The design is based on the derivative of this fan mount found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:491434, and the file has been attached. It was modified to allow for maximum airflow despite being mostly covered by the extruder mount. The shroud leaves about 1mm clear of the bed, and the nozzle is designed to blow downward slightly without affecting the Extruder nozzle. This setup results in minimal impact on bed or extruder temperatures (less than a 2-degree change from full off to full on). The design was flow tested on the bed using talcum powder to ensure proper draft flow. A Noctua 40mm fan will be used due to its high airflow and quiet operation, as well as its good pressure ability since the draft is being reduced significantly. M3x16 screws are recommended for assembly. Two from the back of the fan mount on the bottom and two from the front of the fan shroud on top were used. The holes can be enlarged as necessary (currently all will thread a 3mm screw) to facilitate easy assembly.
