Robo R2 LED Lighting Mount
thingiverse
The standard Stock LED lighting just isn't sufficient to clearly see the print in a dark room using the on board camera. I actually enjoyed the concept of adding an LED lighting strip to the printer, but was not too thrilled about using double sided tape to secure it to the frame of the printer. Therefore, I remixed Kilrah's design by incorporating small clips to hold the 3D printed strip in place. These clips are attached to the frame with Robo's existing screws and also serve as a mount for the top of the LED light itself. To provide extra stability and minimize rattling, I added double sided tape between the various 3D printed components. Additionally, I included a small front valance to prevent excessive light spillage (credit goes to WheresWaldo). The LED lights are 12V strips that are wired in parallel to the Fan 2 position on the control board. This is where the stock LEDs were originally connected and it was a 12V power source. These parts were printed using PETG material to help prevent warping, especially when used with the heated print bed.
