This remix of the fan duct system from Novice Expert's design is specifically tailored to fit the R1 printer perfectly. A precise cutout has been made on the left side of the front duct, allowing for a smooth ride on the x carriage without interfering with the x end stop switch. To achieve this seamless integration, the rear duct was carefully shortened to prevent contact with the heater block, resulting in an incredibly accurate fit. With these refinements, 40mm fans can be easily mounted directly from the bed, offering optimal airflow and efficiency. Several key adjustments have been made to enhance the overall design of this fan duct system. Please see the printing instructions for further details on how to bring it to life. Huge kudos go out to MarquisJohnson (Novice Expert) for creating the original design, which is not only aesthetically pleasing but also provides a remarkably precise fit onto the x carriage. Instructions If you're looking to print this fan duct system, any 3D printing material will do, although we highly recommend using something with a higher temperature tolerance. PET+ would be our top pick, but PLA will work just fine in a pinch. To achieve the best results, we suggest printing with minimal support. The bridges on the inside of the duct already have built-in supports - simply snap them off once the print is complete. In terms of settings, try to use at least 20% infill to give the fan duct system its strength and stability. One last thing: if you happen to be using a RoBo printer, take some time out of your busy schedule to check out Novice Expert's channel on YouTube.
