This is my maiden voyage at designing a gripper system. I will be making numerous revisions as I encounter problems with the design. A standard Hi-Tec servo is serving as my template, and I plan to add different left and right gripper designs as needed. The current grippers are specifically designed for adhesive weather strip foam applied to each side. Tiny holes can be tapped out using 4-40 or a 3M .5 tap depending on preference. I opted for 4-40 3/8" and 1/2" cap screws. Alternative gripper designs for this assembly can be accessed here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:621809. The Rob Gripper top plate link is available here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:622861 To assemble, follow the pictures included with the STL files. 4-40 cap screws measuring 1/2" and 3/8 " in length were used. Components that connect the drive gear to the disc and screws came pre-packaged with the servo box. When printing parts, I employed .4mm for the first layer and .2mm for the rest. PLA was initially chosen for material but plans are underway to switch to ABS for future productions. Replacing 4-40 screws with pins at the joints will result in smoother operation but a drill-out would be necessary to accommodate the pins.
