ROBO 3D X-Axis Double Stabilizer Remix (R1)
thingiverse
We've spent three years building our own VR content company (http://www.redironlabs.com). During this time, we've created many of our own parts for various projects. It's now time to start sharing those with everyone :). EXPERIMENTAL Don't use this unless you really want it for something. I had to file down one bracket and found that although it stabilized perfectly, it caused bigger issues with prints. This is a remix of an X/Z stabilizer for the Robo3D R1 generation. I've actually had a different set of X stabilizers on my Robo3D for ages, and I've seen a few dual-bar solutions. I theorized that a lot of those are overkill, and that a dual bar holder could actually work with the imperial bar (~8mm). As a word of caution, this print needs to print well. If the 8mm bar feels any resistance, it will stop the Z axis from raising and lowering. Make sure it sits loose. I've found that this stabilizer bracket actually works well. It helps clean up the X axis on your print, so much so that if you have the imperial rods you'll be able to visually see the threaded bar wobble that causes the X ribbing. This makes it much easier to correct the ribbing (wobble) later. I'd still consider this experimental. The plastic works well with the rods, but if the teeth do end up biting into the plastic, they will pop off the top. I didn't screw mine in place, but used velcro for easier adding and removing.
