Robo 3D r1 quick connect/disconnect fan shroud
thingiverse
I needed a fan for my custom Titan extruder carrier, which I had created for my Robo. The original design was great because it was simple and easy to remove, but I wanted to take the quick connect/disconnect feature even further. Since I mostly print with PETg, a fan is not required, but I still want the option to print with PLA as well, so I modified Novice Expert's Mark 11 fan shroud to include a female JST 2-pin connector within it. This way, I can quickly and easily connect or disconnect either shroud if they are not needed for a specific print. I bought the JST connectors from Amazon in a pack of about 100. The connector fits snugly into place, but it can be removed by pulling out the male connector when you need to disconnect it, so I applied a few small dots of super glue to keep it securely in the shroud. Print Settings Printer Brand: Robo 3D Printer Model: R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: Not required Supports: Yes Resolution: .200 mm Infill: 50% rectilinear Notes: I printed this model using eSun PETg, and it turned out great. The print settings were as follows: temperature at 255c/80c.
