Robo 3D R1 Dual 50mm fan mount
thingiverse
I designed a dual cooling fan mount specifically for the Robo 3D R1, which cleverly moves the fans out of the way when using a larger hotend. The mount is fully compatible with my E3D v5, although it may work seamlessly with other hot ends as well. I created this mount to improve upon my previous dual fan mount by adjusting the angle of the fans for better clearance and incorporating ducts that direct airflow more efficiently. By adding these ducts, I've significantly improved print quality on bridges and overhangs. However, there is a minor compromise in Z-axis travel where the rear fan comes into contact with the printer case. I'm working on eliminating this issue in a future version of the mount. The fan mount securely fastens to the right side of the carriage using two existing holes. You can either use 3mm screws as I originally did or, if you've managed to strip out the holes like I did, tap for a #6-32 machine screw which appears to be working flawlessly for me. The 50mm fans and fan ducts are attached with 3mm machine screws; you may need to drill out the holes slightly or run a tap through to get the screws started.
