Check out this fantastic video tutorial for assistance: http://youtu.be/B2NtvZyca5A You need to install the cable chain without replacing the entire carriage. The necessary setup is located at: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1066680 This is my innovative solution for attaching a cable chain to the ROBO 3D R1. Warning: You will require some ingenuity and basic electronic skills. You are going to face obstacles while installing this new carriage. Removing the bearings from the old carriage into the new one can be challenging. I utilized duct tape wrapped with a hammer and screwdriver to solve the issue (The handle needs to fit through the hole in the carriage, not the bearing). If the bearings do not fit snugly, just wrap some tape around the bearing until it fits tightly. I hope you find this solution useful and as enjoyable as I did. Please feel free to make any adjustments based on your own experience. **Print Settings** * Printer Brand: Robo 3D * Printer Model: R1 ABS + PLA Model * Rafts: Not required * Supports: Yes * Resolution: Medium-High * Infill: 50-100% Material used: PLA **Instructions** You need a total of 38 chain links. The process may vary based on the version of your ROBO 3D R1. **Step 1:** Disassemble the carriage. **Step 2:** Apply two layers of tape around the bearing to get it to fit snug in the new carriage. **Step 3:** Un-solder the x axis sensor in order to run the cable through the chain. **Step 4:** Drill a hole in the carriage for the x axis sensor. (This is already done on the V2 version.) **Step 5:** Feed the cables through sections of four links at a time, one cable at a time. **Step 6:** Drill four holes in the shell of the ROBO 3D for the bolts that hold the link connector. Remember to test everything as you go and have fun.
