ROBO 3D Front Cooling Fan Setup
thingiverse
I'm planning to upgrade my ROBO with a front cooling fan to keep smaller parts cool. I salvaged the GPU fan from my old Nvidia 730, which is a Cooler Master 37mm unit. It attaches to the fan housing that's secured to the carriage mount via a dovetail connection. The carriage mount fits over the front of the carriage and clicks into place with tabs that fit snugly into recesses at the top and bottom curved sections. An adapter ring helps transition the fan housing to the duct, making it easier to connect the two parts. I designed this upgrade in four separate components to simplify printing orientation and make it more modular for anyone who wants to remix or modify it later. The duct prints with minimal support material if you orient the small orifice flat against the print bed. This is a work-in-progress because I might add an extension to the end of the duct at some point, but that's still up in the air.
