The filament holder positions the filament so that minimum string bending occurs before feeding into the extruder. It fits all filaments less than 74mm in width. The spool can be secured two ways - by one pin going through the spool hole held by Part 3 or with two pins and four bearing rollers as bottom rolling wheels, holding the spool. Installation of ball bearing wheels requires pushing two bearings into one hinge pin, then the pin into a hole. Another bearing is inserted in another hole while the cap faces oneself. Both hinge pins should rotate freely, resting comfortably within their bearings. This process must be repeated for the other hinge pins and bearings. Wheels can be purchased on lowes.com and amazon.com. Adhesive super glue is applied to Parts 1 and 3 while an M6 Screw is used to screw down Part 1 and 2 through a slot securing the entire filament holder in place. Parts 1 and 2 are suitable for only 1Kg spool sizes, however smaller filaments like those provided with Robo3D may fall, requiring blockages from printed Part 2. This design exhibits superior smoothness compared to past printed designs, thus I decided to share it with fellow Robo3D users.
